Mangalore : The Team Lease Services, India’s largest staffing Company and Indian Institution of Job Training (IIJT), India’s fastest growing vocational education company organized an awareness seminar on ‘Career in Financial Planning ‘ at Hotel Deepa Comfort on August 6, Saturday.
The seminar was jointly organized by IIJT and Financial Planning Standards Boar India.
Speaking on the topic ‘India as a growing Economy’, Shajan Samuel, divisional head IIJT, said that there is potential for around 50,000 financial planners in the market. According to the recent Purchasing index prepared by Business Intelligent Unit (BIU), Mangalore City has shown growth in its purchasing power, currentlyat a relative index between 0.65-0.80 and considering this as well as the tremendous growth witnessed in the market. He said that they felt necessity to educate the people of Mangalore on different careers in financial planning.
He also lauded for the effort from the part of IIJT and FBSB to reach out to the people of Mangalore and create awareness for a niche specialized career option like financial planning.
Sanjeev Mathur, AVP, Financial Planning Standards Board of India (FPSB) said that along with the growing levels, Indians need qualified money managers to take care of their finances. The Certified Financial Planner certification equips a professional to develop technical skills and be able to identify client needs, quantitatively and accurately and satisfy them through a comprehensive solution, rather than a product sale.
He also said that, further to the customers, the title of CFPCM professional instantly reflects the skill sets and the commitment levels of the title holder to the profession and the compliance to strong code of ethics.
Neethi Trivedi, Certified Financial Planner spoke on the value of being a Certified Financial Planner and Air vice Marshal K R (Retd), director, Justice K S Hegde Institute of Managemetn, Nitte was the guest of honour for the event.
