Mangalore : Former Union Minister and Nanjangud MLA V Srinivas Prasad said that the central government has failed to implement the respected constitution prepared for the independent and democratic country over six decades ago.
Speaking at the seminar on ’60 years of Indian Constitution’ organized by Mahatma Gandhi Shanti Souharda Vedike, Bangalore as part of inauguration of its Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district units at the Town Hall on Nov 21, Sunday, he said that if country had tried to implement the constitution, then India would have been a model democratic country in the world in its history.
Speaking after inaugurating the seminar, SR Nayak, Chairman of Karnataka State Human Rights Commission, said that India is filled with corruption and hence it is destroying the democratic set up of the country.
Later the association also felicitated senior litterateur Boluvaru Mohammed Kunnhi for his prestigious Kendra Sahithya Academy Award.
BM Haneef, Sub-editor of Sudha Kannada Weekly, Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and office bearers K Suresh Ballal, Kishor Yermal and A Ravishankar Shetty were present.
