Mangalore: Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) from New Delhi, R. Sri Kumar, addressed Corporation Bank employees to mark 40 years of the Bank in city, at a function organised by officers of the nationalised Bank, on Wednesday.
He demanded the participation of all players in a drama, to achieve clean action in public life, like vigilance officers, citizens, contractors or agents.
Just 300 persons working in CVC cannot bring probity in the country, he said.
Citizens should report anything they suspect, or see as corrupt. A number, 922 317 4440, to send a message was launched some years ago, on Anti-Corruption Day itself.
A call centre would collect all complaints, for follow up. He urged for a predictive vigilance over punitive vigilance, to detect frauds and corruption. Dissenting voices should be heard. He wanted a debate and documentation of various forms of corruption. Unions are needed as they sow wrong doings.
He asked banks to move forward with technology and positive unionism.
Ajai Kumar, CMD of Corporation Bank also spoke, and sought an improvement in current/savings accounts. He wanted customers to use the net, ATMs and mobile phones for expanding banking.
