Kundapura: A case has been registered against a footwear shop owner for behaving indencently with a female customer. The incident took place on Thursday at Wandays Kelapete. A case has been filed at Kollur police station.

BJP and Hindu group leaders gathered in the market demanding the arrest of the accused, Saddam.

The actual incident took place on Wednesday evening . Saddam has locked down his store on Thursday and has been absconding since then. Outraged by this, BJP activists gathered in Wandey’s market demanding the arrest of the accused.

BJP and Hindu groups have warned of initiating fierce protest if the accused is not arrested by Friday afternoon. More police force has been deputed here to prevent untoward incidents.

State BJP executive member B.M. Sukumar said that this incident is of a member belonging to another community behaving indecently with the woman shows the break down of law and order in the state. He had visited the location and tried to pacify the gathered.

Kollur police, based on the victim’s complaint has registered a case of indecent behaviour with woman under section 357. Two special police teams have also been formed to nab the accused.
