Dharmasthala : 102 couples entered in to wedlock at the 46th annual free mass marriage organised by Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala during the auspicious goudhuli lagna on Thursday at Dharmasthala.
Actor couple Yash and Radhika Pandit wished the newly weds on this occasion. In all, 12,029 couples have found their life partner through this event in the last 46 years. While 11 marriages solemnised were inter-caste in nature, 15 couples hailed from Scheduled Caste community. Kiran from Brahmwar and Sridevi from Karkala were the 12,000th couple of the event.
“Marriage is a mental relationship,” averred actor Yash. DGP (CID) Kishore Chandra said couples married at this event should never get divorced for any reason.
All marriages have been registered as per government norms, said D Veerendra Heggade, dharmadhikari, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala. The newly weds had darshan of Lord Manjunatha, presiding deity of the Kshetra, food at the Annapoorna dining hall, before leaving for their respective towns, cities to start a new life. MLAs K Abhayachandra Jain, K Vasanth Bangera and others were present.
