Mangalore : The 68th birth celebration of Sri Dr Balagangadharanath Swamiji will be celebrated at Abhiman Greenlans Layout behind BGS School, Kavoor on January 28, Saturday, said Sri Dharmapalanath Swamiji of Adhichunchanagiri Samsthan Mutt, Kavoor.
He was speaking at the press meet held at BGS School at Kavoor on Jan 2, Monday. He said that as a apart of ceremony, the BGS Hostel will be inaugurated at 11 am and the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new BGS PU College to be constructed at the cost of Rs 3 crore will be held on Jan 28.
Every school having the cent percent result in every taluk will be given the books cost Rs 10,000 to the school library. The beneficiaries will be given cycle for handicaps, electric stick for blind and ear machine for the deaf, he said. The trust will also hold various cultural programmes on Jan 27 and Jan 28.
Prior to the event, Sri Bhairaveshwara Jyothi rathyatra will be held. The religious torch will be taken from Adhichunchanagiri on Jan 26 and move towards Hassan, Sakleshpur, Dharmastala and halt at Uppinangady and will start on Jan 27 from there and move towards Puttur, Mani, Kalladka and reach Mangalore at 4.30 pm, said Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. Over 50, 000 devotees re expected to participate in the event, he added.
