Fake-NoteKasaragod: Abdul Rehman, a Haj traveller, hiding in Dubai as Haji from Hosdurga Kolavayal in Kasaragod district was arrested by Dubai Police as the top accused and mastermind on fake notes found in circulation in Kasaragod and adjoining areas of Karnataka on west Coast.

This man is regarded as chief operator of an illegal cartel engaged in supplying fake notes printed in Pakistan and smuggled into west coast regions of India since long.

A.R. Haji (55) had a fake passport also. When Dubai police made further enquiries they realised that they had caught a big fish in their nets as operator of a huge fake currency racket.

Taliparamba cops recently had seized 10 lakh rupees worth fake notes and the case was taken up by National Investigation Agency (NIA) who wanted this man in custody.

Haji was Ajman sending fake notes to India. NIA team went to Ajman, but could not get him.

Haji was jailed in 1992 on recovering 10 tons of silver at Aroor in Kerala but escaped to Gulf region. He is under pursuit now by NIA.
