Managalore : Mangalore rose in wild celebration, following the spectacular victory of India over Srilanka at the ICC World Cup on April 2, Saturday.
The city looked deserted on the day of the match, with thousands of fans sitting glued to their television sets as India battled against Srilanka for the prestigious World Cup.
People could be observed watching the match in houses, shops, bars, restaurants, and TV showrooms.
The fans cheered the team by carrying the Indian flag around, and even little children joined the fun. Cricket fans danced, sang, and even organized live music events and nasik dhols.
The landmarks of Mangalore such as City Centre, Bharat Mall, and Empire Mall was packed with cricket fans celebrating when India finally won its second one-day World Cup after 28 long years.
