Mangalore : Union HRD minister Pallam Raju said that there is no substitute quality for education unless it’s gained through dedication and commitment.
He was speaking to the press and congress members on his visit to District Congress Office Kerala on January 4, Friday.
He also said that when the state has the basic facilities in education, then it must aim for higher bench mark. Mangalore has become an educational hub and now people have to come to Malabar Coast to gain education, he said.
Further we want to create a better living standard by generating the sources, and unless we increase the growth rate we cannot generate the sources.
The state must make up in agriculture and knowledge sector and focus on increasing the competencies.
He said that after providing law and order for the state, they must provide right to education act.
Today we only spend 3-4 per cent of our GDP on R&D. If we don’t spend on it, then we cannot make the education society. This spending is not only from the public sector but also from the private sector. Along with the industry, we must call Chamber of Commerce to fund for the private colleges, he said.
MLA U T Khader said that the state government is least bothered about the educational system. The central government has brought changes brought in for the IIT entrance exam and national entrance exams for engineering courses, hence the students must be properly trained and the state must also train the teaching staffs to teach the students. If the salary of teachers is not increased then, they may not be able to teach the students with peace hence it must be increased.
