Bengaluru : Health Care workers are not only fighting Covid like soldiers but also going a step ahead to earmark Rs 1 crore for Covid relief works is really an appreciable job, said Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka. The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) along with its sister associations provided medical equipment worth Rs 1 crore to government hospitals. The programme was held at Bangalore Medical College.

Dr Shashikumar B M (President, IADVL Karnataka) said, “The IADVL KN along with its sister societies-Bangalore Dermatology Society, Karavali Dermatology Society, Mysore Dermatology Society and World Congress of Cosmetic Dermatology has been actively participating in providing healthcare services to the community. All associations put together have earmarked Rs 1 crore for COVID relief work. We intend to work actively in these extraordinary times to uphold the morale of our warriors and patients by providing essential resources. We have supplied pulse oximeter, BP apparatus, Oxygen cannulas, NIV masks and glucometer to 10 Government medical colleges. In addition to this we are providing stretchers, wheelchairs and fogging machines worth Rs 3 lakh to Victoria and Bowring Hospitals. In the second phase we are spending Rs 50 lakh to provide N 95 masks and pulse oximeters to all the 2,700 plus PHCs across the state to cater to ground level workers. This is in addition to serving our members who are affected with COVID 19 where we are providing financial assistance.”

Dr Savitha A S (Hon Secretary General) said, “The Second COVID avalanche has hit our nation to the core pushing our medical fraternity bound by duty to care for humanity, to work in a war footing mode as frontline warriors-SOLDIERS IN WHITECOAT. To face the challenges, it is necessary that we support each other and work in oneness to deliver our duties.”
