Mangaluru : Indian Coast Guard at Karnataka celebrated International Yoga Day at its State Headquarters at Panambur, Mangalore on 21 Jun 2017. Similar events were also held at Coast Guard Station Karwar and Coast Guard Aeronautical Overseeing Team, Bangalore.
At Mangalore, Yoga Day was attended by all the Coast Guard officers and personnel who are posted at Headquarters, ships, hovercrafts and Air Enclave. Strength of 300 personnel could be seen mesmerized in the blissful feeling of Yoga in the cool morning by the sea-side. The event was led by Deputy Inspector General SS Dasila, the Commander, Coast Guard Karnataka. Various Yoga Aasnas were performed by the participants.
While addressing on the occasion, DIG SS Dasila said Yoga is not merely an exercise but a way to attain peace through physical and mental well-being. It synchronises the mind, body and intellect. Being a symbol of universal aspiration, Yoga assures wellness for everybody. It makes us stronger in thought, actions, knowledge and dedication.
The joy of participation could be clearly seen on the faces of all the participants.
