Mangalore : Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute, Mangalore organized Indiana Heart Walk, Walkathon covering a distance of 1.5 kms to mark the World Heart Day on September 28, Sunday at 7:45 am.

Around 1500 heart patients who underwent bypass surgery walked for a distance with Heart awareness slogans.

The walkathon started from Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute towards Pumpwell – Fr. Muller’s Junction – Bendoorwell Junction and then returned back to Hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute Managing Director and Chief Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Yusuf Kumble, said that it is a matter of pride that Hospital is organizing such an Awareness campaign. The Hospital has treated more than 1000 Heart Patients, who are leading normal and healthy life till date and most of them will participate in the walkathon.

Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute Chairman Dr. Ali Kumble said that, the hospital has got an opportunity to serve the society through the awareness run.
