New Delhi: India’s Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao told media persons today that keeping realities in view, India was making efforts to find a way through dialogue with Pakistan to normalize relations
Having met Salman Bashir, her Pakistani counterpart, in a meeting today she later described the task as useful and relevant to mutual relationship. Any one issue (such as Kashmir) did not dominate, Rao added. They tried to chart out the process and modalities. Rao was satisfied with the preliminary aspects of the meeting. She wanted to wait and see what next could be done.
She was optimistic but cautious as the talking process had to mature. Many issues remained to be solved, she disclosed. Indo-Pak relationship had to be fine tuned, keeping realities in view she realised.
Bashir had told Rao that Pakistan was taking forward the dialogue process. They met for 90 minutes last night and wanted the talks to go in a constructive way to resolve all outstanding issues.
