Mangalore : The bomb scare at the Infosys campus at Kottara in Mangalore on September 26, Thursday morning, that led to panic, eventually turned to be false by evening.
Though police rushed to the place with canine squad and bomb defusal squad, the building evacuated and searched, no bomb was found.
In fact a staff at Infosys is said to have received a call by a female speaker who said a bomb has been planted.
Police who realized that the number was from a house at Kodialbail belonging to Koti Prasad Alva later learnt that a maid servant in the house, in the absence of her employer had tried to telephone a number in Mumbai and instead had dialed the Infosys number and had questioned Bombay Bombay, but the Infosys, staff a Keralite who received the phone mistook it for Bomb Hai Bomb Hai leading to all confusion.
