Mangalore: Mangalore Chess Academy organised an inter-district chess tournament for players all over the state, and 56 responded, but Aditya Pai who won all his matches, beating Shabdik Verma(runner-up), Sharon Rao(state under-11 champion) and Arjun Adappa(a noted player) in the process emerged as the new champion. 15 players were FIDE-rated players from DK, Udupi and Kasaragod. 7 players had won open category matches.

The other categories related to under 15 boys and girls, as also under-12 boys and girls, besides under 9 boys and girls.

Shashidhar Rai was the best among Veterans, while Parithosh was winner in under-7 players.
