Mangaluru :  Drugs worth Rs 10 lakh sized by Mangaluru police was destroyed on International Day against Drug Abuse, at the Biomedical plant at Mulki on June 26.

A total of 354 kg of drugs including ganja, MDMA, Cocaine and brown sugar which were seized in different cases in Mangaluru Police Commissionerate limits were destroyed.

Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said, The drugs have been disposed after court’s approval and proceedings in drugs disposal committee. In 2021, we have cracked 214 cases against drug peddlers and consumers.

In Udupi drugs worth Rs 1,00,28,600 that were confiscated in 50 different cases at various police stations of Udupi district were destroyed at Ayush Envirotech Private Limited, situated at Nandikur Industrial area of Padubidri under the limits of Padubidri police station.

District Additional SP Bhaskar VB, Bantwal DYSP Valentine D’Souza, DCRB DYSP Dinakara Shetty, Puttur DYSP Dr. Gana P. Kumar,   Bio Medical Waste Treatment Room Incharge Prashant and others were present.
