Bangalore: For 8 days from December 15, Bangalore will have an international film festival, and it will be inaugurated by CM Gowda and at Jnan-Jyoti auditorium in city.
DVS Gowda has announced that the government will spend a sum of Rs 2.5 crores on the event. 13 Committees constituted under Karnataka Film Akademi will start working immediately. H.N. Narahari of Suchitra Film Society has been made the Art Director.
The award is world class in this festival. Irani director Meherjuy and Dada Saheb Phalke awardee K. Balachander, will be chief guests.
About 180 films are likely to be shown here. Several local theatres, like Lido, will take part in exhibiting these films.
A seven-day Pass costs Rs 500 for Cinegoers, Rs 200 to filmworld personalities, and only Rs100 for students, a pressnote informed on October 20.
