Mangaluru : As many as 5,320 persons have been trained in yogasana in Dakshina Kannada for the past one month for International Yoga Day on June 21, according to Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner.
The district administration and Department of AYUSH will observe the day at three places in the city on Wednesday.
Yogasanas will be conducted at the Town Hall premises, government employees’ association hall near Mini-Vidhana Soudha and in Government First Grade College in Car Street.
As many as 1,000 trained persons are expected to participate in it. The main function would be conducted in the new Town Hall.
Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada B. Ramanath Rai will inaugurate it at 8 a.m.
Mr. Kumar conducted a meeting in his office on Saturday in connection with organising yogasanas on Wednesday.
Gopalakrishna Delampady, yoga teacher and instructor, told the meeting that yoga was becoming popular now all over the world.
The country observed the previous two International Yoga Days successfully. They have lifted the image of the country.
Practice of yoga kept both body and mind in healthy condition. Images of asanas prescribed for the practice on June 21 were released on the occasion.
