Mangalore: The arrest of Kasturi channel journalist Naveen Soorinje has been strongly condemned by the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ). This Federation has over six lakh journalists from 131 countries as its members.
In a press release, the Federation has urged that the valuable public purpose which Soorinje’s work has served, need to be recognized. It stated that the attack was one of a recurring series carried out by a group that has earned notoriety for its moral vigilantism. The International Federation of Journalists further said it was in fact Soorinje’s report along with the video footage that helped in tracking down the perpetrators of the attack.
