Udupi : Police who are investigating into the  recent gang rape of a medical student of Manipal, have enquired over 40 autorickshaw drivers   of the town, mainly because the reports state that the culprits.s of the medical student had arrived by an autorickshaw.

Police have hastened investigations into this high profile case  and eight teams are in action putting in all efforts to apprehend the culprits.  The police, it is learnt  are searching for an auto with a small idol of Ganesha and also a damaged auto as the auto which had sped after kidnapping the girl, in its haste, had hit the divider.

On Sunday, police even summoned representatives of autorickshaw drivers’ unions to discuss the issue. Sketches of the culprits were also shown to them.
