Mangaluru: The invitation of ’Namma Abbakka Ashaada Vaibhava’ programme was released by State Minister for Kannada and Culture Jayamala at a function held at Tulu Academy’s Siri Chavadi on July 30, Monday. The Namma Abbakka event will be organised by the Veerarani Abbakka Rashtriya Prathishtana on August 4 at Town Hall in Mangaluru.
Speaking on the occasion, Jayamala said the land must forever remember the valour and sacrifice of Rani Abbakka. The government will always encoruage such initiatives, she added.
Tulu Sahitya Academy Preisdent A C Bhandari, Konkany Academy President R P Naika, Beary Academy President Karambar Mohammad, Kannada and Culture Depatment Assistant Director Rajesh G and others were on the dais.
Among those present included Veerrani Abbakka Pratishtana General Secretary Bhasker Rai Kukkuvalli, it’s President Harikrishna Punaroor, Pratishtana Vice President Namitha Shyam and others.
