Mangalore August 13: I will not permit iron ore export and illegal mining until I remain as the chief minister of the state, said BS Yeddyurappa.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for Karnataka Iron Ore Corporation Limited’s new project Raw Material Storage Silos in Panambur on August 13, Friday.
The companies will develop and survive only if they work to reduce environment pollution and avouid disturbing the locals, he added.
After being elected as the chief minister, none of the companies issued license from mining unless than value based industries, but still the KIOCL Mangalore unit is making profit, he informed.
Chairman and Managing Director KIOCL, K Ranganath expressed his gratitude over the presence of Chief Minister at the foundation stone laying ceremony.
