Sullia: Following the allegations of irregularities in Ithuru gram panchayat in 2011, Lokayukta court has cancelled the panchayat membership of former GP President Satish K.
Resident of Ithur GP K P Mohan had filed a case in Lokayukta court alleging involvement of Satish in irregularities during his tenure as GP president in 2011.
In 2011, Ithuru Gp was permitted to provide syntax water tanks to 20 beneficiaries, but during the distribution of the tanks some sort of irregularities were found. It was alleged Rs 50,730 amount was involved in the case.
When court tallied the statements of Satish and PDO of Ithuru GP, it is found that Satish had misused his power during the distribution of the tanks. The court has also said that there are proofs which show that most of the documents were prepared after the registration of the complaint. So, under Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act Satish’s panchayat membership was cancelled with immediate effect.
Responding to this Satish said that he hasn’t collected the order copy of the court and denied to give any further statement.
