Mangalore : ISKCON branch located in Arya Samaj, Mangalore is organizing ‘Sri Krishna Janmastami’ festival at Devadiga Samaj Bhavan on Friday August 10, said president Karunya Sagar Das.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on August 7, Tuesday, he said that DC Dr N S Channappa Gowda will inaugurate the Hari Nama Japa Mantapa. N Yogesh Bhat, deputy speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly will participate in the Maha Abhisheka at 9 pm.
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is a worldwide spiritual organization foundation single handedly by Acharya His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhpada and it is forging ahead with the vision and mission to spread the message of ‘Peace, solace, love and universal brotherhood’ through its many branches across the world and it has millions of devotees and followers in India and Abroad. It is a movement with a humble attempt to fulfill the desire of his spiritual master to spread god consciousness and peace throughout the world. It is also engaged in conducting spiritual discourses, festivals, cultural programmes and meetings, he said.
He also said that the devotees and visitors can offer prayers, pujas and perform special ashtottara seva to the Lord throughout the day. About 10,000 people are expected to have a darshan of the Lord and prasadam, bhojana will be served to all. Devotees can also offer fruits, flowers, coconut and tulasi leaves on this occasion.
The most attractive event of the day is ‘Hari Nama Japa Yajna’ wherein a mantapa is created with 108 steps for visitors to chant ‘Hare Krishna Mahamantra’.
