Bangalore: State Minister for Mujrai and Ports Kota Srinivas Poojari has claimed that the state is experiencing rains after his circular to all Mujrai temples to offer special prayers to appease rain god.

This was how the minister justified the government orders during debate on drought situation in the assembly on July 24, Tuesday,

Earlier, the opposition leaders took the ruling party to task for arranging poojas and other unscientific measures instead of taking effective steps to tackle drought situation.

However, the minister’s statement has not been taken seriously neither by the ruling nor opposition parties who considered it more as a joke.
