Mangaluru : Ivan D’Souza on his last working day as a Member of Legislative Council, has said that henceforth he would be serving the public from his home office.
Speaking to the press at his office in MCC Building on Tuesday June 23. Ivan said he has immense satisfaction of raising voice on behalf of the people by attending all sessions of the Assembly from 2014 till date. He said even in the future he will allocate more time towards strengthening the party and to serve the people. He also added that he would continue his profession of law.
He said he has ensured setting up of solar units in 25 aided and government schools with help from MLC Funds.
Listing out his achievements, he said he has helped secure a total grant of Rs 46 crores to the beneficiaries under various schemes and that over 1600 people have been distributed a total of Rs 6.62 crore aid under CM’s Welfare Fund. He said he has the satisfaction of conducting 63 free medical camps and over 350 surgeries free of cost with the help of his wife Dr Kavitha D’Souza. Free spectacles have been distributed to over 3,500 people, he added.
Ivan also claimed that he has proved how even as an MLC one can efficiently serve the people. MLA U T Khader, Shashidhar Hegde, Nazeer Bajal and others were present.
