Mangalore:  South MLA J R Lobo celebrated deepavali  with the children of Bhagini Samaj at Jeppu Market, here on Friday, 24 Oct. 

The party members and volunteers organized a unique deepavali celebration with 42 children of the organisation.  MLA J R Lobo lit diyas and burst crackers and distributed sweets and fruits to the children.

Speaking on the occasion J R Lobo said  “The purpose of the celebration with the children is, when the entire city is celebrating Deepavali with their families, our party volunteers decided to celebrate the festival with these kids who are special to us. These children should not be deprived from joy and happiness of life. Let the festival bring harmony and unity in the society.

The Treasurer of Bhagini Samaj Vanamala Bhat, Deputy Mayor Kavita, Corporator Rathikala, Shailaja and others were present.
