Udupi : At a press meet convened at the Shirva church premises  on December 17, Monday, the family of Jacintha thanked the media and the public for standing by the family in times of their grief.

Benedict Barboza and his son Junal accompanied by Steevan D’Almeida and Rocque D’Cunha addressed the media and most of the questions posed to Benedict got the reply ‘No comments.’

Asked if they would return to London, Benedict replied in the affirmative. But he said the family had no information when asked about the compensation announced by Radio Australia which ws responsible for the prank call ultimately resulting in the death of Jacintha Saldanha.

Though the family thanked the media, resentment was visible among the mediamen as they were not permitted to cover the event when the body was placed at the Shirva residence and also the proceedings inside the church premises.
