Mangalore : Air India was leaving no stone unturned to pay the final compensation according to the international agreement, having paid Rs 10 lakhs as interim compensation already to all families of 158 dead in the Boeing air crash as on May 22.
A meeting was arranged today (July 27) with AI legal advisors for the sorrowing families in regard to documents needed to claim the compensation which amounts to Rs 75 lakhs. There was no turning back from this position in any case, Jadhav added.
The CMD of Air India, Arvind Jadhav in Mangalore today, speaking to press persons stated all efforts were being made to settle compensation amounts in the allotted 3 months’ period (ending Aug 22). AI Angels (volunteers) are still in touch with each and every family, Jadhav pointed out. He did not want to make any urgency on the issue, bowing to any pressure, but would go by rules, he added.
