Sullia: Janaki, wife of Kurunji Venkatramana Gowda, the architect of modern Sullia and the Founder of KVG Academy of Liberal Education in Sullia, is no more. She passed away on August 22, Wednesday.

Hailing from Kodagu district, Janaki had married Kurunji Venkatramana Gowda in the year 1954 and has since then been a strong pillar of support of her husband. She had also actively involved in women’s associations in the 60s.

The last rites were performed on August 23, Thursday. She has left behind her husband, sons Dr KV Chidananda, Dr KV Renukaprasad and daughter Dr Govardhini.
