Mangaluru: “A ‘Janamana’ programme will be held at Mangaluru Town Hall on September 27 to educate the people regarding the pro-people works done by the government,” said district in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai.
Addressing the press personnel at DC Office on Tuesday, he said that the organisers have got positive response for the previous ‘Janamana’ programme.
“Beneficiaries of various schemes will be made available with the scheme’s facilities during the occasion,” he said.
He further said that a district theatre will be constructed as per the proposal submitted by Tagore Foundation, Delhi. State Kannada and culture department will provide Rs 15 crore for the project. A new Ambedkar hall will be constructed at a cost of Rs 12 crore soon.
“For the construction of new stadium at Benjana Padav 9.11 acres of land has been already notified. The stadium will have 400 metre running track and other facilities also. Panje Mangeshwara Rao memorial hall will be constructed at Bantwal at the cost of Rs 4.19 crore. It will have a seating facility of more than 700 people,” he added.
