Mangalore : Janardhan Poojary, former union finance minister and veteran Congress leader challenged Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa that he would quit politics if the BJP wins the forthcoming by-elections in three constituencies of Bangarapete, Jagalur and Chennapattana.
Addressing the media persons at press club on April 8, Friday, he said that who has arrived to campaign in these three constituencies said that if BJP wins in all the three constituencies, he would quit politics but was confident that he will not require quitting it.However, he sought the resignation of CM Yeddyurappa if BJP fails to win at least in one constituency among the three.
Meanwhile, he urged the sensible voters of these three constituencies to teach a lesson to BJP by voting against them.
Although, there are several allegations of corruption on CM Yeddyurappa, he continues to stick to the power in disgrace, stated Poojary .
Speaking on the congress leaders who quit the party and joined JDS, said that the former congress leaders like MG Hegde, Abdul Majeed Sooralpady, M. S. Siddiq and Shashiraj Shetty were greedy for the posts. The main reason for the resignation from the post since the congress party had not offered them the post of MLA or MP.
He also said that these three people lacked commitment in their work.
Commenting on the statement given by CT Ravi, Poojary said that CT Ravi is planning to put down Eshwarappa and will make a chance for him.
Congress leaders like Vijayakumar Shetty, Suresh Ballal and Hariskrishna Bantwal were present.
