Mangalore : The DK District Congress Committee (DKDC) observed 122nd birth anniversary of Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru in the District office of the committee on Nov 14, Monday.
MLA and DKDC president Ramanath Rai, paid a floral tribute to the portrait of Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru.
Speaking on the occasion he said that Nehru did not hinder to go to jail for his country. He participated actively in the freedom struggle and became the country’s first prime minister.
He also criticized some anti social elements of attempting to defame freedom fighters. He urged the Congress activists work in the path of Nehru.
Shashidhar Hegde, the former mayor; K. S. M. Masood, the senior Congress leader; and Ivan D’Souza, the KPCC secretary; along with Farooq Ullal, Moideen Bawa, Nazir Bajal, Nagendra, Shashidhar, and others were present.
