Mangalore : The Pingara Rajyotsava Award given by the Pingara Weekly will this time be conferred on eminent leader of the Billawa community and President of Billawa Mahamandala Jaya C Suvarna.
The award presentation ceremony will be held at Town hall on November 20, informed Raymond D’Cunha, Editor in-chief of Pingara.
The awardee was selected by a panel including Mangalore Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Shree Esha Vittaldas Swamiji of Kemar Mutt, Roy Castelino, Harikrishna Punaroor, Fr William Menezes, Srikhar Prabhu, Rohan Monteiro, C G Pinto, Dr B G Suvarna, Elias Fernandes and Ramakrishna R.
The award will be presented by Bishop of Mangalore, while K Lakshminarayana Asranna, chief priest, Kateel Shree Durga Parameshwari Temple, will preside over the function.
Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, K Abhayachandra Jain, MLA and others will be present as chief guests.
Jaya C Suvarna, the awardee is also the senior director of the Bharat Co-operative Bank and has been active in various social and religious activities.
The Award has earlier been bagged by Kuntadi Dayanand Pai, Dr M Mohan Alva, Ryan International School MD Grace Pinto, Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Hegde and Harikrishna Punaroor, former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat.
