Chennai: The issue of corruption within DMK in 2G spectrum and Kalaignar TV cases in courts now has hit the underbelly of a powerful DMK in Tamil Nadu in 2011, to take the voters away and support AIADMK led by the intrepid Ms. Jayalalitha who was worse off in 2006.
The DMK has contested 119 seats, leaving 63 to Congress this year. Jayalalitha has contested 160seats for AIADMK. Actor Vijaykant’s DMDK is an important ally, in view of Jayalalitha no longer assuming an all powerful role and willing to listen to her allies nowadays. They have to reach a halfway mark of 118 to take over from D-‘MK’, or chief Minister ‘M Karunanidhi’ now. Early rounds have favoured her group over D-‘MK’.
Karunanidhi’s daughter and (RS) MP, Kanimozhi is in the dock in CBI special court for recovering a bribe of Rs.214 crore for Kalaignar TV run by her.
The results are eagerly looked forward to
AIADMK led by Jayalalitha, has won 196 seats in a landslide out of a total 234 seats, to from the new government in Chennai. DMK has secured a measly 34 seats only on account of financial scams in which M. Karunanidhi’s minister and daughter were involved in 2011.
