Udupi :  Udupi Chikmagalur MP K Jayaprakash Hegde inaugurated a high tech fish market of  the Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation  at Varamballi in Brahmavar on June 25, Monday.

Speaking on the occasion,  Hegde said the high-tech fish market was sure to benefit the fish  sellers as well as the people buying fish as utmost importance is given to the cleanliness aspect in such modern markets.

He felicitated  Suresh Acharya, Proprietor of Jyothi Jewellers who donated solar lighting facility at a cost of Rs 19.5 lakh to the new market.

Udupi MLA  Raghupathi Bhat presided over the function. Among others present on the occasion were  Nitin Kumar, KFDC Chairman, S Narayan, President of Varamballi GP,  Yashpal Suvarna, President of Udupi District Co-operative Fisheries Federation and Srikanth, Varamballi PDO.
