Mangalore: The Yettinahole project which the government has okayed recently in order to solve the drinking water problem of several cities and towns which faced water scarcity, is nothing but another name given to the Netravathi river diversion project that has been widely opposed, said MG Hegde, State Secretary of the JD(S).
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore on July 10, Tuesday, he said the project was as good as a project of supplying water from a place which itself faced water scarcity during summer, to other places.
He also took the authorities to task for the incomplete construction works of Bejai market and said this has hit hard the traders who are suffering for want of alternate arrangements.
On the internal conflict in the BJP, District JD(S) President MB Sadashiva said the BJP has reaped what it has sowed.
