Mangalore : Speaking at the press meet held on Mar 26, Monday, MG Hegde, state secretary and core committee member said that there was always a cold war in JDS since he joined the party.
He also said that the members of the party never went request their acceptance in the party, but it was JDS chief H D Kumaraswamy who had invited them personally and build a strong party.
He also said that on 24-4-2011, HDK himself had appointed him as the state secretary, but after joining, it was understood that there is no JDS party, but it only a money making business run by M B Sadashiv, president of the District JD(S). His initials in the name stands for Money and Business, he criticized.
M B Sadashiv long with Amarnath Shetty and Mohammed Kunni did not allow anyone other than them to share the dias during Devegowda and HDK’s visit to city. He also had opposed every member’s entry into the party, but it was HDK who had requested the members to work for the party with patience.
He said that the mental torture and the internal conflict of the party had made the members to quit the party by giving mass resignation.
The situation in the party was worsened when hardworking leaders like district general secretary Shashiraj Shetty and district minorities cell chief D M Aslam were suspended from the party.
The entry of Nagaraj Shetty into the party had feared those three of losing their impotence and opposed him.
MB always used to point out the mistakes towards its members, even though Nagaraj Shetty, DM Aslam, Sadanand Shetty, Aslam, Shashiraj Shetty lent financial support in the urban local body election.
The mass who had given a time of 10 days to HDK to change the president, but their demand was denied; hence they had given a mass resignation and further will never turn to it.
M G Hegde said that in the first stage of mass resignations, party lost 10 senior leaders and 50 others and in the coming days, they would lose many more.
The leaders who resigned from the party are B Nagaraj Shetty, state vice-president, M G Hegde, state secretary, Shaukath Ali, former Konaje gram panchayat president, Dr Uday Kumar, Ranjith Malli, Pradeep Karkera, Sudarshan Bantwal, Sumathi K Shetty, Sunil Poojary, Ravi Shankar, Harish Shetty, P B Basheer, Rajeev Poojary, Rajesh Shetty, Anoop Rai, Lokesh Bhandary, Premdas, MP Narayan, Abdul Suratkal, Praveen Poojary, Sharmith Jain, Sharath, Yashwanth Ashraf Ullal and Abdul Khader.
