Mangalore: State JDS(S) President HD Kumaraswamy has said that the JD(S) if it came to power in the state will constitute a separate corporation for the welfare of the minority Christian community.
Addressing a Catholic convention organised by the party in Mangalore, he said the existing minority development corporation unduly favoured the Muslims and usually had a Muslim itself as its chairman. He also stated that his party would give due representation to the Christian community and preference to them while giving party tickets.
Kumaraswamy blamed that the Congress did not favour the Christians nor has it been able to discharge its duties effectively as an opposition party in the state. He also accused the BJP and The Congress for the religious disharmony in the state, particularly in DK district.
On this occasion, Kumaraswamy also chose to warn RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat and said his party if it came to power would surely take action against Bhat. Kumaraswamy also referred to the arrest of TV Journalist in Mangalore in connection with homestay attack case and said he was arrested just because he exposed the misdeeds of the Hindutva forces.
Several JD((S) leaders including Sadananda Shetty, Nagaraj Shetty, Amarnath Shetty, MB Sadashiva were present.
