Mangalore : Janata Dal (Secular) leader and MLC B. Puttanna urged the votes to cast their precious votes to S.L. Bhoje Gowda, JD(S) candidate for South West graduates’ constituency and Panchakshari, candidate for South West teachers’ constituency since BJP candidates have failed respond to problem.
Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Woodlands hall on May 21, Monday he said that the Chairperson of State Legislative Council D.H. Shankaramurthy and Ganesh Karnik who are in the fight as Bharatiya Janata Party candidates for MLC election from South West graduates’ constituency and teachers’ constituency respectively have failed understand and solve the problems faced by educated youths from part four term and this time the voters will teach a lesson to them, he said.
He also said that they duo are the unable candidates with the zero achievement in their tenure. They have not organized any programmes related to education in the region.
The problems faced by the teachers related to pay revision was addressed by Mr. Kumaraswamy after which the teachers in urban areas were given Rs 200 and teachers in rural areas were given Rs 300, he said.
He also said that he would move to the High Court seeking postponement of elections to the Legislative Council seats from teachers’ and graduates’ constituencies scheduled to be held on June 10, since those writing the test for the posts of lecturers in Government Pre University Colleges would not be able to cast their votes as the test was being held from June 9 to 15.
