Mangalore : State JD(S) President HD Kumaraswamy has said that entrepreneur A Sadananda Shetty will be contesting as a JD(S) candidate from Mangalore South Assembly constituency.
He was speaking at a function at Town Hall after formally inducting Sadananda Shetty to the JD(S) fold at Town Hall on October 29, Monday..HDK said the JD(S) manifesto will lay more emphasis on the welfare of farmers and promised to live upto the expectations of the people. He also exuded confidence that the party will keep up the promises.
On the recent visit of Congress President Sonia Gandhi to Mangalore, Kumaraswamy said the Congress chief came mainly to target the BJP and ask the Congressmen not to engage in internal strife.
He also exuded conference that the JD(S) would win more support next time.
JD(S) leader M C Nanaiah, State JD(S) youth President Madhu Bangarappa, former minister Amarnath Shetty, Legislator Zameer Ahmed, Nagaraj Shetty, Deviprasad Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
‘BJP has failed in its duty’ : Later speaking to press persons, Kumaraswamy said the BJP government in the state has miserably failed in living upto the expectations of the people.
He said Yeddyurappa has only created confusion in the BJP. He also spoke how Yeddyurappa while stating he would float a new party, has said he would not bring down the BJP government.
He also criticized some state ministers for trying to appease Yeddyurappa instead of striving for the welfare of the society.
He said that JD(S) has prepared an election manifesto which has 35 points dealing with the welfare of farmers and agriculture.
