Mangalore : Janatha Dal (Secular) State president B Nagaraja Shetty said that party will hold a workers convention at Asaigoli Central Maidan on January 4, Friday at 2 pm.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on January 2, Wednesday, he said that H D Kumaraswamy, former chief minister will inaugurate the convention and M B Sadashiv, president of DK District JDS will preside over the event.
He said that most of the JDS leaders including former minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan, JDS Youthh president Madhu Bangarappa, David Simeon, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council, Afsal Agha Khan, Former MLA K Amarnath Shetty, JDS Minorities unit president Shakeel Ahmed and others will participate in the convention.
Shetty said that he has been traveling three districts for the election campaign and the environment of the party is very good. HDK himself has requested the public to give him and last chance by electing the party and this has won the hearts of many people.
BJP leaders Shakuntala Shetty and Haladi Srinivas Shetty have resign from the party and may join the party any time. None of the leaders and members will quit JDS party and if one or two quit also it will make no difference, he said.
Commenting on Eshwarappa’s resignation, he said that the BJP leaders are discussing the matter and revealing secrets of others, in such situation it is not necessary to put our hands into dirt and take sin.
JDS will also hold convention at Belthangady on January 4, Friday morning.
JDS leaders M G Hegde, Azeez Malar, Shashiraj Shetty and Mohemmed Ali were present.
