Bangalore : Former chief minister and JD-S state president H.D. Kumaraswamy after visiting Governor H.R. Bhardwaj to greet him on New Year, speaking to the media said that the party will not allow the legislature to function till Yeddyurappa gets down from the government.
The 10-day session is scheduled to start on Jan 6 and Bhardwaj will address the joint sitting of the state assembly and council.
The Congress as well as JD-S have been demanding Yeddyurappa’s resignation mainly land allotment and scam. Yeddyurappa is has been favouring his sons and daughters with prime land in and around Bangalore.
When the land scandal broke out in November, Yeddurappa claimed that he followed his predecessors and made his relatives surrender the land and ordered a judicial probe into various land allotments from 1995. But still both the opposition parties have been insisting that Yeddyurappa’ s removal from government.
Kumaraswamy opined that his party would adopt the same tactic of BJP has done in stalling the parliamentary proceedings over 2G spectrum scandal.
He also said that, as a Lok Sabha member from Ramanagaram adjoining Bangalore, he had urged Bhardwaj to sanction prosecution of Yeddyurappa over land deals.
According to Bhardwaj told reporters last week after receiving the memorandum from the two advocates that the documents they have submitted run into nearly 2,000 pages and he would study them before giving away any decision.
Kumaraswamy warned that his party would launch a state-wide agitation for Yeddyurappa’s removal after the results of the district polls.
