Puttur : If until now there were reports of the JD(S) making attempts to rope in former Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty, reports of late suggest that the JD(S) was now wooing the sitting MLA Mallika Prasad.

Reports state that Nagaraj Shetty, who recently defected to the JD(S) from the BJP, has met Mallika Prasad and has invited her to join the party. It may be mentioned here that Mallika Prasad’s husband is a prominent RSS leader of the town.

Reports also sate that the Puttur BJP was almost a divided house with now group supporting former CM Yeddyurappa and the JD(S) was eying those BJP men who were inclining towards the Yeddy faction.
