Mangalore : Jet airways flight to Dubai on Wednesday was cancelled due to operational reasons. The flight was scheduled to leave at 8 pm.

Sources said pilot had called in sick at the last minute and since Mangalore was not a base they did not have the replacement crew available.

The flight has been rescheduled to leave at around 7.30 am on Thursday. Irate passengers, who were informed of this cancellation at around 8.30 pm, had to be pacified by the jet staff. Airline source said that passengers from far off places were accommodate in city hotels.

Immigration personnel said the passengers were in the security hold area. Those passengers who had purchased from duty free shops had to return their purchases.

The replacement crew will arrive at 6.30 am on Thursday from Mumbai and the flight will depart thereafter, sources added. -Times of India
