Mangalore : Jitendra Kundeshwar, the chief correspondent of the Vijaya Karnataka, bags the prestigious Charaka Progressive Journalism Award.
Jitendra who has already secured the Vaddarse Award 2003 for one of his human interest Kannada article on tribal issues and the Pa Go Rural Report Award for his article on sustenance of tribes in the forests of Someshwar, will receive this award at Raj Bhavan on July 1, Thursday.
Governor Hansraj Bharadwaj will confer the award, which comprises a cheque for Rs 10,000 and the Charaka trophy, on the occasion.
Executive Director of Communication for Development and Learning (CDL) announced the names of the winners of the Charaka Progressive Journalism Award for 2009 – 2010.
Apart from him, Radhdrishna Badthi , Sub-editor of Vijaya Karnataka has also won a special award for water conservation journalism.
