Udupi : John Martis (34), a person hailing from Malpe Bailakere  lost his life in a bomb blast at Afghanistan on July 2. Martis was deputed by the UNO under whom he works,  as accountant of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in Afghanistan and was working there since the past four years.

Martis who was scheduled to leave for Dubai on June 28 had cancelled his visit following a bomb explosion there the previous day. He had then rescheduled his Dubai visit to July 4, but tragically lost his life in an explosion on July 2.
