Mangaluru: People of Jokatte staged protest march demanding to withdraw the case, exclude the names from the rowdy sheter list and suspension of Inspector Cheluvaraju, on Monday at Surathkal Railway Bridge.

Protestors gathered in hundreds of number and started marching towards the Surathkal police station. Protestors were stopped near Surathkal junction by the police. Raged by this protestors sat on the road and shouted slogans against Inspector Cheluvaraju and MLA Mohiuddhin Bava.

Addressing the gathering DYFI state President Muneer Katipalla said that Cheluvaraju is considering the protestors as rowdies. He is helping the anti social elements to grow up in Surathkal premises.

“Justice is like a mirage to the locals of Surathkal. The department should take immediate action against Inspector Cheluvaraju. If not then, the protests will be sharpened,” he said.

Panambur ACP Rajendra received the memorandum at the spot.

B S Hussain, Aboobakar Bava, Moideen Shereef, Vijayananda Rao, Vidhya Dinekar, Shreenath and others were present.
