Mangalore : Doordarshan Reporter Gangadhar Padubidre arrested for  killing his wife at his sister’s house at J B Road, Kodikal here on Monday July 15.

Gangadhar Padubidre working for Doordarshan and  he also had a professional orchestra team in Mangalore. His wife Mamatha Shetty (32), was assistant professor at SDM Law College Mangalore .

Gangadhar married Mamatha shetty three years back. It is learnt, Mamatha was an orphan and Gangadhar had helped her attain higher education. But, after marriage the couple had frequent quarrels.

Sources said Husbandand wife had quarrels so much, once they had approached the police station also.

This incident happened Monday afternoon. Gangadhar had reportedly strangled his wife with a towel.

The body was found in the middle room of the house. Injury marks on her neck indicated that she was strangled.

Family members of the couple revealed that the two had regular clashes. It persists today and until it reached murdered.

Gangadhar admitted his guilt. He has been taken into custody in this regard. Police sources said.

Deputy commissioner of police (crime) D Dharmaiah , Assistant commissioner of police Kavitha BT visited the spot.
Urwa police have registered a case.
