Mangaluru: The Brand Mangaluru, a joint initiative by the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Union (DKDWJU), Mangaluru Press Club and Pathrika Bhavan Trust was inaugurated at TMA pai convention hall Mangaluru on Sunday October 14.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the gathering Chief Minister said, Journalist should see the truth of news, do not publish or air fake news. The state government would extend all possible aid to all schemes aimed at the welfare of the journalists. He said the Government would consider the appeal made by the journalists association and assured that it would respond positively.
A sum of Rs 51,000 contributed by journalists of DK District was handed over to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on the occasion.
Srinivas Nayak Indaje, President of DK District Working Journalists Union presided over the function.
DK District in-charge Minister U T Khader, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, MLCs Ivan D’Souza, BM Farooq, Mayor Bhasker Moily, former minister Ramanatha Rai, former MLAs JR Lobo, Moidin Bava, Shakuntala Shetty, Yogish Bhat and others were present.
